Chrome Sky - “Binary”
Il duo italiano Industrial metal dei Chrome Sky, rilascerà Venerdì 15 Ottobre il secondo album della band dal titolo “Binary”. L’album sarà disponibile in formato digitale nei principali digital stores e online sul sito della Crashsound Distribution.
Il titolo è stato scelto in connessione con il numero due, sia perché si tratta del secondo album della band sia ad evidenziare la natura “duale ma non duale” del progetto musicale, costituito infatti da due soli elementi in apparenza in antitesi tra loro (la macchina e l’umano) ma che in realtà si integrano complementariamente a vicenda, rappresentati a loro volta dai due componenti della band (rispettivamente Mario e Paolo). Da notare inoltre che il titolo comincia con la lettera B, per l’appunto seconda lettera dell’alfabeto (così come il primo album, Artificial, cominciava per A).
L’album è costituito da 8 tracce e rappresenta un’evoluzione del duo verso sonorità più dure rispetto al precedente, in cui gli elementi metal ed industrial prevalgono rispetto agli altri che componevano la miscela di Artificial.
I Chrome Sky sono il frutto di una collaborazione pluriennale che nasce a Catania tra il poliedrico cantante e cantautore Paolo Miano e il creativo compositore/programmatore Mario Ferrarese, da anni residente ad Amsterdam, alla ricerca di una creazione innovativa che fonda metal, industrial, trance, prog, goth e molte altre influenze in un unico scenario difficilmente etichettabile, con la voce come unico elemento umano sullo sfondo di un setup strumentale interamente programmato.
La loro musica ritrae con sguardo asettico e impietoso la condizione esistenziale alienata dell’uomo contemporaneo, costringendo l’ascoltatore ad affrontare il magma di pulsioni che ribolle nelle profondità dell’animo umano, dove si oltrepassa la razionalità, il bene e il male si annullano, il sacro e la follia coesistono e il destino dell’uomo viene creato, e in questo modo percepire la dolente fatica dell’esistenza.
Nell’estate 2016 registrano e mixano sette brani presso il The Cave Studio di Catania con il sound engineering del noto produttore Daniele Grasso, che costituiscono l’album di esordio Artificial, che esce nel maggio 2017 per l’etichetta DCave, anticipato dal singolo Artificial Man. Il video del singolo, prodotto dal regista salentino Alessandro Urso (alecs), entra in diffusione ai primi di ottobre dello stesso anno.
Per sopraggiunte vicissitudini personali però, sono purtroppo costretti ad interrompere l’attività nel gennaio 2018 proprio al momento del lancio promozionale in Europa.
Nel febbraio 2021, i Chrome Sky tornano in attività con il singolo Kleenex, che segna una leggera svolta verso suoni più duri, metal ed industrial, e che anticipa un nuovo album previsto per il prossimo autunno. Un secondo singolo, Desert Sun, uscirà a fine giugno.

☣ Chrome Sky - “Binary” ☣
Scheduled for Friday the 15th of October the release for “Binary” the Chrome Sky’ second album. The album will be available in digital format on the main digital stores and online via Crashsound Distribution.
Binary is the title of the new Chrome Sky’s album. The title was chosen in connection with number two, both because it is the second album of the band and to highlight the “dual but not dual” nature of their musical project, consisting in fact of only two elements apparently antithetical to each other (the machine and the human) but which actually complement each other, represented in turn by the two members of the band (respectively Mario and Paolo). Also note that the title begins with the letter B, precisely the second letter of the alphabet (as well as the first album, Artificial, began with A).
The album consists of 8 tracks and represents an evolution of the duo towards harder sounds than the previous one, in which the metal and industrial elements prevail over the others that made up the blend in Artificial.
Chrome Sky is the result of a decade-long collaboration between the multifaceted vocalist and songwriter Paolo Miano and the creative composer/programmer Mario Ferrarese, with the aim of creating a new genre blending metal, industrial, trance, prog, goth and many other influences into a unique and unexplored scenario, with the voice as the sole human element against an entirely programmed instrumental background (guitars included).
